2021.1 GUVS 2020 CFDC (Contemporary Furniture Design Competition)

BE FORMATIVE is a product-based design studio established in 2020 by designers Lee Ki-yong and Kim Ye-jin after their team activities in Craft Combine.
BE FORMATIVE deals with shapes and physical properties and focuses on the shape, function, material, and manufacturing method of objects that change with the times.
They are developing designs by finding our own new perspectives between the past and the present and incorporating them into contemporary lifestyles.

Designer Choi Bo-yoon is making ceramic objects using pottery. She would like to continue the work of combining traditional crafts and 3D printers.

Dunsol Ko (Assoc. AIA) is a designer, educated as an architect in New York. He is the founder of f square studio, based in Seoul, Korea. The studio focuses on multi-disciplinary fields in space, product, and graphics, pursuing an ideal balance between form and function for optimal design. Maximizing functional necessity while minimizing needless form is the key that drives the designing itinerary. His works have won international awards and were shortlisted for titles including Ein&Zwanzig, Asia Design Prize, Korea+Sweden Young Design Award, and DNA Paris Design Award.

Design team Kim. is a young and up-and-coming designer team of the industrial design base created by Kim Jae-hyun in 2020. The brand itself has been constantly challenging new and fresh things based on various materials and stories such as fabrics, ceramics, wood, and steel through collaboration lines with craftsmen and their brand production lines. We want to work with small business owners who are sincere about each project and make high-quality products together.

Brand OMANEMO records objects of new shapes in the relationship between the physical property of 'light' and space. Design and produce objects of light with the aim of the specialness of light in the daily life of light.

Studio EFO is a private design studio by designer Kim Hyun-jung, which started in 2019. EFO stands for Emotion-Forming, which means recreating emotional experiences by morphologically implementing especially emotional parts of the design process. It goes through a design process that maximizes its purpose in areas such as space, products, furniture, crafts and installation art by insight into human unconscious habits, stimulation of five senses, and familiar phenomena in everyday life. In addition, based on her architecture major in Korea and design major in Germany, Kim Hyun-jung proposes an experimental design from a fresh perspective by appropriately combining architecture and design, and Korean identity and Western culture.

Shin Young-jin is a product designer of the product-based branding studio "064".

Studio Odd Scene explores the results of various media under the motto of "No boundaries in here.". It focuses on visual and furniture-based work and does not place any restrictions on the media in expressing what they think.

It proposes time-bearing materials and assembling methods that can be repaired and reused, leading to the attitudes of objects and users living longer and cooler. RKRN believes that any object has its own precious story to come by one person's side. We respect those who purchase things carefully, and this is the sustainable value that RKRN thinks.

STUDIO JUNG HOKO forms a worldview based on imagination and makes it a commercial work. These commercial works approach the public intuitively rather than metaphorically.

DSLSM, an industrial design company, provides a design that harmonizes functionality and aesthetics based on structural forms in order to create sustainable design under the slogan 'The right value for us even 10 years later'.

We would like to redefine and expand the clock as a medium that contains time and time view, not just a product that marks only the cut time unit as a scale and number.
