  • Company S.O.G. Design Studio(SANRO)

    1 Please introduce the company (brand).

    SANRO is an in-house brand prepared by S.O.G. Design Studio, a studio specializing in industrial design for eight years. From design planning to mass production design, over a long time, the know-how and cooperation with production partners became possible, so we developed the product ourselves.

    2 How did you start the brand? If you have an interesting story, please share.

    Our annual contract with a big client ended last year. Because of the frequent occurrence of situations with clients that do not last due to current market conditions or various conditions, I am convinced that service services are never self-sustaining at a time when large sales are decreasing. So it's the product of self-reliance to make what we want to make with our own will and philosophy and make it a necessary product for someone.

    3 Please introduce a new product you are making or your most recent product.

    Our product is basically a must-have for customers who are running a store like F&B or preparing a new space, but we are working on increasing the value with our own twist on products that produced reactions like 'Is this all that’s available?’.
    Right now, we're showing strong results in lighting and price tags, and we're going to try everything we can do with our manufacturing partners, from electronics to props, including umbrella racks, flowerpots, baskets, and insect-catching devices.

    4 For the people visiting the launch hall, please share the main parts of the booth and the concept of the exhibition.

    The product we produce basically uses the by-products of raw materials generated during mass production while we serve the client's service. It utilizes materials that can just be thrown away through a lot of designs that can be done with the leftover. So the unit price can also be taken competitively. I would appreciate it if you could look at the product from the perspective of a natural virtuous cycle, and see the part that increases added value by reusing materials as a viewing point.
    In addition, all the tables and shelves where our products are DP are made of paper and can be recycled, which is also designed by us and will be sold as useful products for POP UP stores. Installation and production disposal of furniture installed in existing pop-ups is a consumption of goods and nature in many ways. It's an effort to address this.

    5 Is there a reason why you decided to participate in the design launch fair? What are you expecting from the fair?

    I think it will be very helpful if it is exhibited at Design Core in Korea as we were looking for an opportunity to raise our design studio's valuation and promote our own brand "SANRO."

    6 Please tell us about the direction that you want to take your brand in going forward.

    We are not artists. As an industrial designer, I have an obligation to make products with the right design and price in the right environment. We plan to make products that people who use necessary objects without art enjoy and that we want to use. We are also preparing a showroom in Bukchon so that you can experience all these products there.
