“Door Lighting” was created based on a motif of doors. A door may be seen simply as an item that separates rooms, however, it has been widely used metaphorically to convey a variety of meanings. In the novel The Chronicles of Narnia, a new world opens behind the wardrobe door. “The world beyond the door” is a common subject in novels and songs. The door of Door Lighting plays a role of blocking the light but it also symbolizes the new possibilities and expectations hidden behind the door at the same time.

Designer Jeongho Ko said that it was a great opportunity to explore the new field of outdoor lighting which he has never experienced before. He added that there would have been great difficulties if he was on my own but he was able to transform the imagination in my head into reality based on Dayoon Design’s technology. Dayoon Design CEO Geunhoe Park who was responsible for manufacturing said she could obtain a lot of new ideas by working with the artist, instead of relying on existing in-house designs. She added that they were able to create an innovative product despite technical difficulties since they tried to design outdoor lighting without any bias.
