This solo tea chair is designed to create a
sense of space in the smallest of spaces, making the user feel relaxed or
rested. The main point of the chair that arouses curiosity from the appearance
is the seat, which is made of two long trees that make it feel like a patio,
and the angle of the seat makes it comfortable to sit on. The asymmetrical base
can be left as it is to create a sense of space, or you can hang or place your
favorite items on it. If you have a cafe space, you can use it as a place to
put your bags and coats, or if furniture for a single person, you can use it as
a tea table so you can have a quiet cup of tea while looking out the window.
Maker Gnamu
"It was a fun and fulfilling project
to collaborate with a designer with similar values. From the maker's point of
view, it was helpful to see the process of designing by thinking about the
attitude towards the space and the user's emotions when designing."
Designer Soo-yeol Yoo
"This was my first collaborative
project, and the implementation of my design went smoothly thanks to the
excellent carpentry knowledge of the maker, Gnamu. Our sensibilities were
similar, so we had a lot of fun discussing the concept. We tried to think about
the space from a new perspective and wanted to design furniture that could be
used for a long time."
