A notable feature of the wall and hand
mirrors with oval-shaped frames is the loop of the mirror, a string that
contrasts strongly with the frame, making it a definite focal point for your
belongings and space. The design and concept is reminiscent of Beenzeenee’s early
works such as the "Shang Shang Hole" and "Shang Shang
Corner" series, creating a feeling of being sucked into the
"hole" of the mirror, which allows the user to have an exciting and
fun imaginative experience that is different from reality.
Maker Ago Studio
"Ago Studio is working on the theme of
wood. In this collaboration, it was refreshing to be able to fuse various
materials such as acrylic mirrors and fabrics in addition to wood. We were able
to learn a lot by understanding the materials and coming up with ways to
compensate for problems that may occur when combined with wood. In the future,
we would like to present products with a richer feel by using materials with
various properties other than wood in combination with wood."
Designer Beenzeenee
"Maybe it's because mirrors are so
ubiquitous in our daily lives - in our rooms, in the bathroom, on the subway -
that we never had the thought, “we should use mirrors that are beautiful and
interesting.” This collaboration gave me the opportunity to challenge myself to
design a new product line. We tried to design them in a way that maximized
production and accessibility to users."
