The Korean word Milda means push. Please introduce the brand milda.

milda, created by AnyLock, means to open conveniently by pushing. We are leading a paradigm shift in door locks by applying for trademarks in Korea, the United States, and China to enter the global market and promoting our products through a kickstarter campaign in the United States with backers from 140 countries. Just as Korea's K-pop and K-content are fueling the Korean wave boom, we are realizing the revival of Korea's manufacturing industry through our excellent products. 

The revival of the Korean manufacturing industry! How did it all start?

It started with the hygiene inconvenience of having to grab and open the handle after washing your hands in a public restroom. The development of a push-pull handle that can be pushed with a part of the body instead of the hand improved usability, minimized cross-infection, and allows for quick escape in case of a fire! We researched and developed the product solely from the user's perspective, and after a monitoring period, we listened to the best feedback, which gave us more confidence and it felt very rewarding. 

Can you tell us about your newest product or what’s in the works?

We are preparing to launch a series of milda products, the first of which is an entry-level push-pull handle that considers the usability of children under 5 years old, and we will launch a disaster safety push-pull handle that enables quick escape in case of fire in schools and apartments.

What is the booth concept for customers to get to know AnyLock?

Since it is impossible to recognize the convenience and safety without first trying the product out, we will create an experience space where all visitors can use it freely. In addition, they will be able to feel the value of the space as an interior objet. We hope that visitors will feel the beginning of a convenient life that can be changed simply by changing a door handle.  

What are you hoping to get out of the DDP Design Launching Fair?

I want us to be a successful example of breaking the social prejudice that only technology-based engineering majors can make door locks. Through the DDP Design Launching Fair, I would like to let many people know that the door handle and successful product milda that improves the convenience and safety of everyone was born through the imagination enriched by majoring in craft design.
