It is a stool made by combining wood and webbing straps into a playful design, allowing consumers to choose a combination of colors. By increasing the number of stools, extending the length of the webbing and fixing them together at once, it expands into a bench that can seat several people. The webbing straps combined with the basic wooden furniture have been designed to hide the finishing materials inside while giving an impression that the stool is fastened securely. The straps also function as a hardware that enhances the stability of the stool. You can easily lift and move the stool by holding on to the fixed webbing straps like a handle.

“It was my first time participating in the DDP Design Fair. This opportunity allowed me to gain a wide range of experience by developing products with various shapes and materials. When I was making a stool with hard maple, birch plywood and webbing straps, I had some difficulties since I had to use an unfamiliar manufacturing method, but I could address the issues by discussing things with our team members. As most participants have really good experiences and they are willing to participate again, I hope the design fair grows over the coming years, resulting in various collaborations and high-quality products.”

“I designed a stool that can bring freshness and fun to the space by combining wood and other materials to convey a different feeling to the user through a variation in materials. I was able to be part of an interesting project by getting matched with a passionate and talented maker. At first, we set a goal to launch a furniture lineup with a set of various furniture pieces, however, we were only able to launch a stool due to the tight schedule. We are planning to develop other items in the future.”
