This is an eco-friendly knit poster, which contains a story of endangered wildlife, with the concept of Beautiful Nostalgia. The graphic design inspired by the Art Nouveau style features fig marigolds and black-veined white butterflies, which are examples of endangered species at risk from climate change and overfishing. This perpetual calendar with numbers only allows the user to keep track of birthdays, anniversaries and other special events. It was designed to be used year after year rather than being thrown away every year while maintaining its original function, something that cannot be replaced digitally. This home décor product made of natural dyed cotton yarn can be used as a table mat, kitchen cloth or hand towel.

“I participated again since I wanted to broaden my experience in production through collaboration and create a high-quality product. This year, I could actually feel the changes in the environment, so I thought a lot about a product design that could tell the story of “endangered wildlife”. It is because I wanted to say that environment protection should not be the responsibility of environmental activists and animal rights groups, but everyone’s priority. I really enjoyed our journey with Needlenco, discussing common issues and making a product. We worked on the design after a consensus was reached on the direction of the calendar's analog value, clear functionality, its role of space decoration and a message for sustainability. We haven’t made any detailed plans yet, but we hope (and will do our best so that) Needlenco’s Ecology on Knit Poster made from eco-friendly cotton yarn evolves into a series of products and becomes a brand. In addition, we want to continue to play a role in delivering a message about environment protection with a style that represents ORANGE DOOR’s unique artistic sensibility.”

“We were selected as one of the excellent teams at the 2021 DDP Design Fair, and I participated again because I was able to achieve good results. It was great to see stylish design elements that I would have never thought of by working together with a designer who has good values and a similar mindset. The calendar created together is a home and living product tailored to the needs of consumers who like to decorate their homes during the pandemic and single-person household consumers. With 100% natural cotton yarn, we designed illustrations of endangered plants, insects and marine plants to convey a message about sustainability. I hope it becomes a sustainable project through marketing and promotion efforts, so it can be sold to customers after production.”
