The visual character of a piece comes from its lines. Lines originate from a point and appear as straight or fluid curves. Natural objects, which are mainly curved, and man-made objects, which are a mixture of straight lines and curved lines, all serve as visual motifs in the artwork, forming various planes and creating three-dimensional volumes or spaces. The composition of forms is mainly based on planes and spheres. The sphere has a soft, solid, dense image and is all-encompassing, while the plane is sharp and direct. When combining these two opposites, new forms are created that include curvature. By combining the organic forms of curves with the rigid structure of straight lines, I create fused forms, and the resulting visual image is both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time.
