The Lumino Watch, which offers the
experience of focusing on the different colors of the sky as time passes, is
designed with two discs, the hour and minute hands, that overlap and separate
from each other to represent changing time. As the discs rotate, they change both
color and shape, giving the space a new look every hour. Rather than showing
the exact time, it reminds us of the importance of having a relaxed mind, like
the sky that changes without being bound by time. To realize the colors, Hanji (traditional
Korean paper) color chips were made and printed using a water transfer
technique to reduce the color difference between the products caused by the hand
coloring method, and to simplify the process and increase productivity. In
addition, three color options are available so that users can choose according
to the wall environment.

"We have been making products based on
one tone, but this collaboration allowed us to try new things by applying
unique colors in various color combinations that designers use. We were also
able to change our handmade work method to a mass printing method in line with
the product production process.”
Designer Eundam Hwang
"I studied watch movements and parts
and tried to apply them to the design. I also expanded my work by studying
various printing methods such as water transfer, UV printing, and transfer
printing to facilitate the production of various colors that were previously
implemented directly on Hanji."
