"‘EIGHT(8)", a small garden of rising and falling terrain

Collaboration: By SPRING and Woothic
2023-10-3145

Designed with the motif of nature's circulating and connecting shapes, the gardening kit draws a single line across a continuous curved surface to create ' EIGHT(8)', and then fills the interior space with nature. An upcycled object made from a combination of water-based acrylic resin and shredded oyster shells, an eco-friendly material, the small garden features a natural topography of rising and falling, with the natural pattern of the oyster shells subtly visible. Nature has a completely different feel depending on where you look and from what angle, and if you arrange it according to your preferences, you can create your own unique garden.

"We shared our ideas in our spare time while we were working on our own lives, and we were matched with a like-minded designer, so we were able to work together from design to production to completion. We hope that our designs will become small objects of everyday life."

Designer Woothic

"It was a valuable time to study the properties of jesmonite. By researching the functionality of the material, I was able to identify the keyword 'gardening' and expand my knowledge in a new field. I was able to discuss and refine my initial proposal with the maker, and in the end, we were able to create a design that we were both happy with."
