Steel and industrial pipe materials used in
construction sites are cut at different angles and have different shapes. The
'Parallel Series' began with the question, "Wouldn't it be interesting to
stack such materials by joining them?” By paying attention to the materials and
shapes of the steel and pipes themselves, the designer designed household items
that emphasize the non-linear behavior of zigzagging. The 'Parallel Series' can
be used as an objet even if it has no use, thanks to its excellent sculptural
beauty. It is also noteworthy that the different sizes and heights of the pipes
are arranged so that users can use them as they wish, leaving the possibilities
open.
Maker Si-pyeong Lee
"It was great to be able to share,
design, and realize the ideas that the designer had. Together with the
designer, we designed a specific process for how one design can be
mass-produced into a product, and we were able to create a wonderful
collaborative product because we considered the material properties, colors,
and shapes."

"It was great to be able to explore
the unique features of the material and reveal its inherent uniqueness by
designing it in consideration of its productivity and sculpturability together
with Si-pyeong Lee Studio. We were able to create a product that combines
practicality and sculpturability while revealing the characteristics of the
material."
