The ruler's neatly hidden droplet shape
gives users something they've never experienced before. The designers paid
close attention to functional convenience in addition to sensory form, so when
you hold the ruler in your hand, it naturally fits into your palm for a
comfortable grip. It's also three-dimensional, so you can easily pick it up
from the floor or stand it upright. While most plastic rulers are lightly used
and thrown away, the teardrop-shaped ruler is thick enough to resist breaking,
making it a joy to own for years to come. It's made from 100% biodegradable
bioplastic, so it's also environmentally friendly.
Maker Newdaplat
"We held regular meetings and
workshops with our designer to discuss ideas and create design prototypes.
Through this collaborative process, we were able to help and stimulate each
other, and discover and develop new ideas. The innovative design and features,
which are completely different from existing products, fulfill the needs and
requirements of users, giving them high satisfaction."

"We worked closely together to realize
our design ideas and create an optimal product. To develop a ruler that
reflects the needs and convenience of users, we pursued a harmony between
functionality and design, and developed our ideas in consideration of manufacturability.
During the prototyping and testing process, Newdaplat’s input and advice
contributed significantly to the feasibility and performance of the idea."
