Do you have a fun story about how you
created your brand?
I was born and raised in Geoje Island, the
hub of oyster production in Korea, and as the CEO of Toysand, I launched the
company and brand in 2016 to solve the environmental problems in my hometown
caused by oyster shell waste. The company was founded with the mission of
passing on a clean and safe earth to future generations through the development
of eco-friendly synthetic new materials upcycled from 350,000 tons of oyster
shell waste per year, product manufacturing, and various services utilizing
these materials.
I'm very curious about the products made
from oyster shell waste.
After succeeding in developing an
eco-friendly synthetic new material by upcycling oyster shell waste, we have
been mass-producing and selling three types of products under the brand name
Nature N: incense holders, DIY products (Figurine), and OEM products through
various channels in Korea and abroad. We also provide services in four areas
under the brand names of Toy Drama (education), Toy Art (art), Toy Party
(indoor events), and Toy Festa (outdoor events). We have launched moon jar incense
holders, octagonal bottle incense holders, and moon cluster plates as our own
products, which are sold at Shinsegae Duty Free, the souvenir corner of the
National Museum of Korea, our own online store, and Naver Smart Store.
Talk about your booth's special points and
exhibit concept.
The
booth is designed according to the UPS (Unique, Pure, Simple) concept, which
means that all products released by Toysand are unique. The products on display
are unique in design with the motifs of Korean National Treasure No. 309 Moon
Jar and National Treasure No. 258 Cheonghwa White Porcelain, pure in design
with a subtle and cozy milky white color, and simple in design with simple
curves and straight lines. I hope it conveys the value of the future
environment and the unique beauty of Korea.
What would you
say is the direction you want your brand to head in going forward?
With the vision of 'becoming a leader in
the eco-friendly industrial ecosystem that recycles discarded oyster shells',
we have been and will continue to focus on various experiments and technology
development. We also aim to expand our sales channels overseas to Amazon in the
US and Shopee in Southeast Asia, as well as enter high-end stores such as
Shinsegae Duty Free and Lotte Department Store in Korea.
